Bellbrook Fishing Report week ending 4th April 2014

A real mix of weather this week with some good clear days in between less inviting days. However the launch of the new Price List and Stocking Policy has been well received over all and we have been quite busy.  Both the Specimen and Normal lakes have fishing well with both Black Nymphs and Blue tailed Damsels doing the trick. The water temp has stabilised and is producing good clean fish with strong takes and a healthy number of fish being lost before being netted!

David Hill from Ideford fished both the Specimens and Normals on a Rover Classic catching 4 fish for 9-14 on a Black Nymph.

Fishing buddies John Davies and Roger Michael rented the static caravan for a couple of days and had some excellent fishing. They found fish at mid water depth in most of the lakes and were successful using a mix of nymphs and  hoppers.

Kevin Braithwaite and Tony Kirby of Torquay visited mid week having never been to the fishery before. Kevin managed a couple of fish and Tony caught his limit. They both favoured Dai Bach nymphs.

Chris Evans from Exmouth had a few days in the Annex with his lovely partner Vicki and had to lug home 10 fish for 29lbs!! His favourite flies were Orange Fritz and Damsel Fritz.

Plans are still coming together for the Open Day in May – please check out the website for details.
